An ewe adage says;” your good works will not put your head in the mud”. I receive feedback often after every article and a particular one i received two weeks ago caught my attention. It reads; “when will you celebrate one of our own who is a front-line health worker in the US?” I inquired to know more about the conqueror, conquering the fight of this dreaded pandemic. Our conversation went dead after that however i was given a good lead to honor our very own who is working assiduously with one of the facilities treating the Covid-19 infested persons. Info regarding him is very scant however i managed to obtain a little on him so as to celebrate him amidst the pandemic fight.
Dr. Eyako Kofi Wurapa, MD is a retired US Army Physician with experience in Home Health Care, Urgent Care, Global/ Population Health and Tropical medicine in Washington, District of Columbia. He has been in practice for more than 20 years. He relocated to the United States in the middle 80s after his secondary education in Spaco.
Dr Eyako enlisted in the US army as a first lieutenant in 1996 after graduating from the medical and began practicing at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He retired from the US army in the year 2010 but continued to practice as a Physician.
Dr. Eyako Kofi Wurapa currently practice as a Physician at a facility “Patient First” which is one of the facilities assisting in the fight of the Covid-19. His profile reads;
” Dr. Wurapa received a Bachelor of Science degree from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania, and he received his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He also received a Master of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Wurapa completed an internship in internal medicine at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington D.C., and he completed a residency in family medicine at Martin Army Hospital in Ft. Benning, Georgia. He also completed a residency in general preventative medicine at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Silver Spring, Maryland. Dr. Wurapa is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine”.
